She earned her bachelor’s degree from Grand Canyon University, Arizona, and her Master of Science in Nursing Practice- Family Nurse Practitioner Track at the University of Texas at El Paso. She graduated in the top 10% of her class during her bachelor’s and Master of Science Nursing degrees.
Dr. Ogbonna completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Texas at El Paso, Texas. She continued to maintain the top 10% of her graduating class. In addition to the didactic training obtained, she underwent clinical training with one of the best professors in Internal Medicine.
Her academic excellence and leadership qualities secured her a spot as a Fellow Paso del Norte Health Foundation Graduate Program Award, member of the International Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and Alpha Chi National College Honor Society, Texas Alpha Beta Chapter. She knew that being an advocate, a leader, and a clinician; comes with excellent communication and listening skills. Given this, Dr. Ogbonna certified in “Motivational Interviewing,”
Dr. Ogbonna is very compassionate and has a great love for her community. Her passion influenced her to meet with her district state representative to discuss the increased rate of the opioid crisis, which has worsened by COVID-19. In addition to this, Dr. Ogbonna certified as a Medication Assisted Treatment provider to help improve accessibility.
Dr. Ogbonna remains one of the top Doctoral prepared Nurse practitioners in her area and sees patients of all ages. She understands that when an individual is sick, so is the family. She treats not just the patient but incorporates a holistic approach.
She has two daughters and is married to a retired army veteran who served as the Chief, Environmental Health, Department of Preventive Medicine, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Fort Bliss, El Paso, Texas. She participates in a mentorship program for children of dysfunctional parents; loves reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
